The government of PS says that it believes in climate change, but later signs agreements with the USA to buy fracking gas. In fact, the government wants to turn the port of Sines into the port of entry for gas to Europe. That will involve the capacity increase of the liquified natural gas in Sines. However, Sines already has many fossil fuel infrastructures, therefore it would provide more value to retrain the workers and the local populations in a fair energetic transition. Instead, by totally denying the climate science, the government gambles on getting more fossil fuels. Neither Portugal nor Sines have to take part of the climate negociations which the government of Trump does. Refusing the fracking gas is the minimum that we can do in solidaritry with the groups that fight against the destruction of the soil in the USA.
